[ Jess is inarguably certain this is a trap, the only cause for doubt in her mind being the fact that she has nothing left to lose. Then again, she's consistently wrong about that, so there is no choice but to follow through on her appearance. If this guy's being controlled too, at least he's another full grown adult. God damn it, Frank, she told you to stay away from the kids. She couldn't have told you harder!

Despite having to watch her steps, she can still get to him by the time he's made it halfway to his destination. She tails from as far back as her 20/20 street-level super-vision will allow, and when he arrives, waits another five minutes. There's no reason to leave him out in the open, except to postpone the surrender he came to negotiate. Jess approaches from the same direction whence he came, taking to her device. She's already worked out that he doesn't have superpowers, or else Frank would have invited him up to guard Kevin's even stringbeanier body. ]

What's that for? [ She indicates to his laptop with the hand holding her device. ]

[ he doesn't have superpowers, just another normal squishy human who fucks around with computers on the side -- pretty unremarkable as far as most people are concerned. he's nervous when he gets there first, glancing around warily until he spots jessica's approach. he follows her hand and looks down at his laptop, makes a jerky shrug. ]

[ he can still monitor frank's movements with it if he has to, and he's never been more thankful for the fact that frank had given it to him the first day he got here. it makes him feel less like he's totally useless, even though he's certain majority of the people here could break him in half. ]
